Only Me

Butterfly Girl

David Hoffman

This beautiful spontaneous woman-child, who prances and dances and flips and twirls.
When she wraps her arms around a man at work, it's just a silly tease.
When she wraps her arms around a friend at play, it's genuine love.
Still unsure of herself, pondering, wondering,
she'll pout like a child when she's sad, and radiate joy when she's happy.
She'll take refuge inside her cacoon, then burst forth from a caterpillar to a butterfly.
Always an enigma, she holds the key to key to her beautiful, constantly changing soul.
She holds the key to a man's heart, but cannot see it.
She is wild and free, with wings like a butterfly, but you can't catch her, as much as you try.
